B401 The B401 is a short freeway spur into the city centre of Ghent. The road consists mainly as a 4 lane viaduct over the Schelde River, and was built elevated over existing streets in the late 1960s. B-roads in Belgium are secondary to A-roads, and are fairly rare and usually very short. The B401 is the only B-road with an exit, the rest are simply connectors.

| The E17 collector/distributor lanes northbound at the split with the B401 near Ghent. The B401 ramps then flyover the E17 mainlanes. | ||
| The 4 lane viaduct then goes over the Schelde River, where it has it's first and only exit. A half diamond for Alle Richtingen, or "All Directions" - this exit serves local traffic for the streets below. | ||
| The viaduct then enters one of the business districts of Ghent, complete with mid-rise office and residential buildings. | ||
| The first sign on the road is for exit number 2, which has no official name, but is the last exit on the road. The "end motorway" signs are immediately beyond. | ||
| The speed limit drops to 90 kph as the freeway prepares to end. The large white building to the left is the 14-story Artowrk Tower (UCO Tower), built in 1959 and one of Ghent's modernist architectural gems. | ||
| Another speed limit warning sign. | ||
| More signs for the last exit. This road is also known as "Willem van Julik Laan" after the local street it flies over. | ||
| The viaduct goes over the Schelde River again, as it prepares to end. The city centre of Ghent is immediately ahead. | ||
| Large signs with LCD readouts direct drivers to parking in the city centre. | ||
| Finally, the very well signed exit number two has arrived. | ||
| The B401 ends at Zuidpark Laan and Koning Albertpark just southeast of Ghent's centre. | ||
